This piece is one of four in the first series I ever create. The series is inspired by a piece I created last year named Roman Heir, hence the title. I thought long and hard about whether I should give the pieces in this series a different identity but in the end decided against it. My thinking is, as they are wholly inspired by Roman Heir, they should carry its name prolonging its lineage as one would in a family. The original Roman Heir was acquired by an incredible arts professor and collector alongside Curriculum Vitae.
I should also add that this is the smallest canvas size I have ever produced. Ever. And I must admit I find working on (relatively) small canvases far more challenging and unforgiving than my usual large pieces. Terribly intimidating.
